ARP


When we go through Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) we can define that it allows a host to find the media access control address of a host on the same physical network according to the given IP address of the host. So to make Address Resolution Protocol (ARP ) efficient, each computer caches IP to media access control address mappings to eliminate repetitive Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) broadcast requests. 

How to use arp
  • Allows a host to find the media access control address of a host on the same physical network, given the IP address of the host
  • Viewing the ARP cache and resolving address resolution problems
  • current ARP entries by interrogating the current protocol data
We can define the use of arp in arp –a form as follows,
 
arp –a
This use to displays current ARP entries by interrogating the current protocol data. So this can use to determine whether the computers have the correct MAC addresses listed for each
